TeemIp Documentation for Administrators

As previously stated, TeemIp has been built on top of iTop frame work, the world famous open source ITSM and CMDB solution. As a consequence, administring TeemIp is very similar to administring iTop and TeemIp's administrator manual extensively refers to iTop's administrator manual.

Let's just list here 2 key points related to TeemIp, before listing the links to the different iTop admin subjects.

TeemIp is licensed under the terms of the GNU Affero General Public License Version 3 as published by the Free Software Foundation. This gives you legal permission to copy, distribute and/or modify TeemIp under certain conditions. Read the ’license.txt’ file in the TeemIp distribution. TeemIp is provided AS IS with NO WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING THE WARRANTY OF DESIGN, MERCHANTABILITY, AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

Fresh Installation

As you know, you may install TeemIp as a standalone application or as an iTop extension.

Should you decide to use TeemIp standalone, a few preparation steps will be needed before running the installation wizard.

Should you decide to enhance iTop with TeemIp extension, you may refer to the IPAM for iTop extension page.

TeemIp upgrade process being the exact same one than iTop upgrade process, please, refer to iTop's How to upgrade page for that operation.

User profiles

Next to the standard user profiles already embedded within iTop, TeemIp brings its own set of profiles:

Profile Description
Guest Person with read only rights (no bulk read allowed) on CMDB objects (only)
Helpdesk agent Person processing the IP requests
Hostmaster Person handling the IP space and looking after the IP changes

And of course, TeemIp alters some of the iTop profiles to grant them access to the specific TeemIp objects:

Profile Change
Configuration Manager Adds R/W rights on TeemIp network objects, IP addresses and links with IP Objects
Document author Adds R/W rights on links with IP Objects
